About Passion
Passion Bankhead joined Palmetto Counseling in August 2026, bringing her dedication to helping clients build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create a new life path that is authentic and connected to who they want to be. She is especially passionate about working with adolescents and adults navigating the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, identity concerns, and relationship challenges.
If you are feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you and seek to better understand your mind and the impact of your experiences to create meaningful, lasting change, Passion is eager to start the journey with you.
Passion learned firsthand that healing is rarely a straight path and that getting better can sometimes feel harder, or even scarier, than staying stuck. She understands the inner turmoil that mental health struggles can create and how exhausting, overwhelming, and isolating that journey can feel.
Like many of her clients, Passion also knows how it feels to hear people say, “There’s a light at the end of the tunnel,” while feeling like you’re walking through darkness every day. Those experiences shaped not only who Passion is, but the therapist she’s become. She has gained a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to ask for help and the importance of having someone who is willing to walk alongside you without judgment.
Without assuming to know their stories, Passion stays curious, asks thoughtful questions, and helps her clients make sense of their experiences with compassion rather than judgment. She strives to create a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest, challenged enough to grow, and accepted enough to show up exactly as they are. Using an integrative, trauma-informed, and person-centered approach to therapy, Passion tailors therapy to each individual’s experiences, strengths, and goals — never a one-size-fits-all approach.
Watching clients rediscover hope, healing, and parts of themselves they thought were lost is what continues to inspire Passion every day. She’s passionate about helping her clients understand what happened to them, recognize how those experiences have shaped them, reconnect with who they are, and learn to trust themselves again.
As Passion’s client, you can expect to be encouraged, challenged, and reminded of your strengths, even when you’ve forgotten them. Working together in a warm and approachable environment, some sessions may involve learning new skills; others may focus on processing difficult emotions or simply sitting together through life’s hardest moments. Whether you’re laughing together or offloading some of the weight of difficult experiences, Passion is committed to your confidence, growth, and healing.

“Trauma isn’t only about what happened to us; it’s also about what it takes away. My passion is helping people navigate every aspect of their healing — not only the memories that trauma can leave behind, but also the beliefs and patterns that continue long after the event has passed to develop practical coping skills and create lasting change.”
—Passion Bankhead, MS, LPC
Education
- Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Walden University
- Bachelor’s in Integrated Marketing Communication, Winthrop University
