About Nikki

Bringing a decade of experience working as a mental health professional, Nikki Brown started at Palmetto Counseling in April 2025 and specializes in the Neurodivergent experience. Leaning on her own experience as a Neurodivergent individual, Nikki practices an eclectic yet specific combination of modalities through a Neurodivergent-Affirming lens. She helps her clients reflect on their past and how it has shaped their current core beliefs and values to move forward more authentically.

Nikki has always been interested in patterns of behavior and why they occur. That interest, combined with her own mental health journey and having amazing therapists, made Nikki believe that she could use the lessons she’s learned from her pain to help others navigate and transform theirs. It’s her passion to work with individuals who feel like they can never get life quite right or “fit in,” and those who struggle to find meaningful social and/or romantic relationships or pass as having it all together but are secretly drowning on the inside. These individuals often include adults and children in the neurodivergent community, as well as BIPOC, women, queerfolk, and other marginalized populations.

With her laid-back personality and therapy style, Nikki’s clients can expect to start their sessions by laughing and catching up on the shenanigans of the week before. Once there has been time to settle in and get comfortable, Nikki then allows the conversation to go in whatever direction and pace is right for you. While she knows that the work you’ll do in therapy can be uncomfortable, Nikki does her best to provide a safe and welcoming environment for healing.

If you’re considering beginning therapy with Nikki, know that she is already proud of you for considering taking the steps to learn more about yourself and make positive changes, let alone allowing her to be a part of the journey. Give yourself credit and remember that while a therapist may be an expert in their field, YOU are the expert on you. Nikki will be there to simply walk beside you and provide guidance where you need it. All you have to do is show up as your authentic self, and she will meet you where you are.

“Part of my purpose is to create space for those who are ‘othered.’ Helping people find their light truly makes mine shine brighter, and while this profession isn’t the easiest, I am so grateful to be part of it.”
