About Scott
Since becoming a substance abuse Counselor for the Military in 1992, Scott Shepherd’s professional career has been dedicated to helping others change for the better, which he says is “priceless.” Scott has been an asset to Palmetto Counseling’s team since April 2023, providing excellent care and guidance toward the resolutions best for each client.
Scott’s passion for counseling stems from his desire to be a part of an individual’s growth process that shapes a happier, healthier future. He understands that everyone needs assistance at some point in their life, and he is committed to providing compassion and a safe space for clients to explore their challenges and find their resilience.
It’s important to Scott to deeply understand his clients’ experiences and difficulties to take on their perspective. He strives to help his clients feel validated, understood, and cared about, providing them with the security to express any feeling or experience free from judgment.
Scott’s ability to recognize and grow from his struggles drives his mission to help others and his conviction that overcoming life’s obstacles is possible, for anyone. Approaching topics in a gentle, loving manner, Scott’s clients can always expect empathy and honesty.
