About Mary
Mary Beirne Taylor is a passionate therapist who began her journey as a mental health professional in 2015 and has been a valued member of Palmetto Counseling’s team since June 2017. With a specialization in child therapy, she genuinely enjoys helping people reach their full potential and supports clients of all ages.
Mary’s love for counseling started early in life, as she spent countless hours babysitting and working at children’s camps. She chose to follow in her aunt’s footsteps and pursue a career in counseling, gaining experience in private practice and elementary schools near Clemson. Seeing her clients’ growth is very rewarding and has taught her that people are more adaptable than we realize.
Using humor, building rapport, and creating a welcoming space, Mary tries to make therapy enjoyable and uses creativity to establish her unique approach for each client. Mary’s gift is connecting with kids and helping them feel comfortable expressing their feelings. She believes that everyone has value and that listening to children is invaluable.
With her patient nature and accepting positive attitude, Mary takes the time to get to know the personal details about her clients — how they enjoy spending their time, what makes them laugh, and what they like to talk about. Building a trusted connection gives Mary’s clients her support and allows her to better understand each one’s needs.
Mary is here to guide you along your journey toward growth, resilience, and wellness. Her compassion and joyful spirit will make you feel at ease from the moment you meet her.
