About Kimberly
For as long as she can remember, Kimberly N. Hicks has been deeply passionate about helping people and inclined to understand and study human behavior. She was compelled to begin her professional mental health career in 2019 and became a valued member of the Palmetto Counseling team in April 2023.
Growing up, Kimberly’s mother and friends would often tell her that she’d become a counselor, as she couldn’t help but listen to everyone’s challenges and work toward solutions. Kimberly says she’s always had a different level of compassion, which she’s found to be a unique quality in most mental health professionals, who, she believes, have been chosen to do this work.
Kimberly is committed to listening to, supporting, and empowering her clients, especially when they struggle to believe in themselves. Through her self-proclaimed “relatively eccentric and unorthodox” personality, Kimberly meets her clients where they are and provides what they need to feel comfortable being open and honest with her. She believes that proper healing and true transformation take time and that patience with yourself and the process is very important.
To that end, Kimberly shares with every client that they deserve grace and someone to support them through their circumstances, no matter how good or bad they may be. She’s adamant that anyone can change with the willingness to put in the work and develop a positive mindset.
Kimberly desires to help anyone who is motivated to grow, and believes that healing knows no bounds. She welcomes every chance to begin the journey!
