About Alycia
Meet our compassionate and experienced therapist, Alycia M. Toohey, who joined Palmetto Counseling in 2018. Alycia has always felt that counseling is her calling and with almost 25 years of expertise, her continued drive to help others stems from her deep-seated empathy and desire to alleviate suffering for as many people as possible.
Throughout her career, Alycia has worked in a variety of settings, including intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization programs (PHP), in-home services, case management outreach, and housing. Her profound understanding and incessant curiosity to learn more about the human mind and its resiliency have allowed her to help clients find their inner voice and meaning in a perplexing world.
Alycia’s therapy approach prioritizes empowering her clients to express themselves freely. She sees herself as their sounding board who helps them gain a better understanding and guides them toward the balance needed to heal from the inside out.
With Alycia, clients can expect a friendly, authentic, and nonjudgmental environment that encourages trust and open communication. Her optimistic outlook on life allows her to see the best in her clients no matter their experiences, and to support them even during their most challenging times.
In addition, Alycia is Palmetto Counseling’s Outreach Clinician and Training Coordinator. In this role, she maintains community engagements, assists with hiring and training new clinical staff, and supervises clinical staff.
