About Kelly
Kelly Richman is a dedicated mental health professional with almost 20 years of experience and a passion for helping children, adolescents, and adults overcome obstacles and positively move forward. Palmetto Counseling has been lucky to have Kelly on our team since April 2023.
For Kelly, counseling has always been a calling. Even as a teenager, she was drawn to helping others. Kelly was encouraged to pursue a career in mental health by seeing the positive impact speaking with others as a neutral person can have. She went on to work in therapeutic foster care, inner-city schools, and home-based therapy for developmentally disabled children.
Kelly believes in creating a personal and friendly relationship with her clients. She finds humor and personality to be just as important as clinical expertise in building a relationship and a client’s trust. Kelly takes a personal approach with every client, getting to know them and their interests to meet them exactly where they are. She creates a safe space for openness and comforts her clients to ensure that they’re fully accepted.
Driven by having the sharpest tools possible to help clients unleash their full potential, Kelly continues to grow her knowledge.

In Kelly’s Free Time
Kelly enjoys walking her 10-year-old black lab, gardening, baking, going to the beach, traveling, and spending time with her family and two little girls.
